December Club Meeting! Fri., Dec 19th

The next club meeting is Friday, December 19th, 6:30 PM, at Karen and Sarah’s house, 300 Mogul Mountain Dr, 89523.  (map below)
This will be the inaugural (or reinstatement rather) commitment to conducting tasting sessions at all regular club meetings.
Here’s the plan:  At 7:00 PM (sharp) (1/2 hour after meeting show-time), we’ll have a blind (i.e., not knowing who brewed it, but only knowing the style, just like in competitions), oral (i.e., not writing comments but discussing them), group (one large group of whoever wants to participate, not broken into teams) tasting/evaluation session, lasting as long as it takes to get through all the brews submitted.  As of now, we do not have a style to major on, but that’s OK, we’re flexible, we can switch from style to style (and I bet most of us have the BJCP app).
So if you have something you would like feedback on, whatever the style, bring it.  We will set it aside so it doesn’t get sampled beforehand, and start this thing right at 7:00 PM.  Just let us know what style it is when you bring it in.
This is a potluck, and thank you Karen and Sarah for hosting!

The New WZZ Forum

Background:  WordPress (the framework software for our website) has an add-on (or plug-in as they call it) for forums, called bbPress.  I’ve been struggling to make it look and work better (more professional), but to no avail.  But then I discovered stand-alone Forum software (that’s still free) that was exactly what I was looking for (very robust as they say in tech-ese).

So, the new framework is up and running.  Those of you that registered on the old forum will have to re-register on this new one (sorry about that but it couldn’t be avoided).  But be confident, I won’t be switching us to a new framework anytime soon.

So please check it out (the link is on the main menu).  There’s plenty of opportunity there for you to participate (heh, not much activity at all yet).
